Technoelectric implemented in 2021 a complex packing house project for Ceva Logistics in Bekaa, Lebanon.
The project’s main objective was to implement automation for the cooling system in a grapes packing and storage facility, aiming to control the temperature, relative humidity, and dew point for the optimal preservation of grapes.
The international project, created in partnership with Iceberg SAL- Lebanon, included state-of-the-art equipment and software, TIA Portal WinCC and S7-1500 PLC system. The Technoelectric team designed an automation system to control the cooling system that includes a chiller type served by two Mycom ammonia compressors, with propylene glycol as secondary refrigerant. Due to COVID 19 pandemic, the automation system was successfully remotely commissioned, meaning that no technician or electrician from Technoelectric was present on-site.
The main benefit generated for the client is the optimal preservation of the grapes, without weight loss, due to advanced control algorithms for temperature and relative humidity.
The Technoelectric team that ensured the project’s success consisted of Simona ROBU – Project Manager, Silviu ROBU – Project Manager, Corina TECUCEANU – Production Manager, and Geanina SIMILEANU – Procurement and Logistics Manager.
