Andreea Stoiciu is one of the Technoelectric team who was brave in choosing her career. At the age of 29, he is an Automation Engineer with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a lot of responsibility within the company. Her professional attributions refer to a complex process, from the client’s offer to the project delivery.
One of the characteristics she has in common with all her colleagues is her desire for development, which determined her to pursue a master’s degree in the field, succeeding, she says, in acquiring more knowledge in this branch of engineering.
Andreea inspires people around her by carrying out all her projects with dedication and by always coming up with solutions where there is room for improvement in the process of communication, production, or delivery. During the 5 years spent in Technoelectric, he contributed significantly to the company’s development and, with it, Andreea also grew professionally. She gives us more details:
1. You have been part of the team for 5 years. Tell us about your evolution in the company during this period, and what the learning and adaptation process within Technoelectric meant to you.
My evolution within the company is an obvious one for me because I can make a comparison between the first months – in which everything seemed difficult to me, not being familiar with this branch of electrical engineering, in which I was going to practice – and the way now I work. Things started to take shape, and I learned from my colleagues the programs in which we carry out the entire management process and the functionality of the facilities. The accommodation with the Technoelectric team was not difficult because I am a sociable person and I like to communicate as much as possible with the people around me.
2. You attended the Polytechnic. Tell us what motivated you to work in this field and not to change your professional activity when you left college or after you were hired for the first time.
I can say that the motivation to work in this field came thanks to my father who works at a hydroelectric plant. Coincidentally, during high school, I was on a trip to this hydropower plant, and I noticed how many interesting and complex things make an electrical installation. This fact determined me to attend the Faculty of Electrical Engineering within Bucharest Polytechnic. After graduating, I decided to continue in the design branch of electrical installations because, during the seminars, the most engaging courses were the design courses.
3. What challenged you professionally in the company, and how you overcame the challenge. What is the innovative project implemented by the company that you told everyone about when it was completed and why?
A challenge for me was the moment I became responsible for every project I had in progress. When you are a beginner and inexperienced, it is an essential step to be responsible for the projects you carry out, and this makes you more rigorous when it comes to designing installations. A reference project is Emirates Flight Catering. Technoelectric contributed to the development of the east and west wings of Emirates Flight Catering with electrical panels for the refrigeration system. The main feature of the project refers to the implementation of the 2 surveillance systems that can control the cold installation. The control and monitoring system (SCM) was the first of them, with the function of local control, monitoring and recording, and each SMF was individually designed for the relevant areas.
4. What are the things you like most about the organizational culture of the company, and what do you appreciate most about your colleagues and the work environment?
One of the values that Technoelectric has is to challenge the quo, as well as morality, values that are imperative in a company. What I appreciate most is the dedication of the people in the company.
5. What things have you learned – professionally and/or personally – that have contributed to your development? In this direction did you also follow company’ trainings? If so, tell us about them.
I can say that my way of thinking is different, compared to 5 years ago, when I was leaving the university and I didn’t know what the responsibilities of an employee were. At Technoelectric, we learned the whole process necessary for service delivery, starting with the pitch, the negotiation with the client, designing the electrical installation, and delivery of the finished product.
Andreea is from Prahova County and visits her hometown as much as possible. She says that there she learned, thanks to her parents, to be an honest person who respects the people around her. She is passionate about walking, she likes to discover new things and places, meet people and listen to their stories.
